I found a picture of me getting mobbed by adoring Summer of George fans at one of our shows. I thought I would share:

More Smiling Eyes

I agree, Dan. We talked about Smiling Eyes as one of the main ones to re-record but didn't because you were in VA. But if you are coming home, let's definitely do it. As far as the guitar goes, we've talked about renting a super nice guitar for our sessions, so I wouldn't worry about bringing yours on the plane. Nothing against your guitar, we just thought that for these nice, hopefully final, recordings that we should rent a super nice guitar for the day.

As far as the jam after the song goes, we talked about that too. I think that's a great idea. That was one of the coolest things about that song.

Michelle is actually home from her mission, and I'm sure she would love to do those vocal parts.

I think for the arrangement, we should really take the focus off the guitars. More focus on Jon. Just kidding Dan. I really like the last arrangement too. I don't think we need to change much, other than making sure this next recording doesn't sound like we are playing in a cave.

Smiling Eyes

This is great! Jon and I actually talked about re-recording songs when he came to visit us recently.

Obviously planning a time to record may be difficult due to our busy schedules, but I would like to re-record Smiling Eyes. I will be home for Christmas and might be able to throw down the guitar track. It will be a little tricky getting my guitar home with the new airline rules for luggage, but I will look into it. We will also probably come home next summer, so that might be a good time too.

I really liked our old arrangement for the song (including Michelle singing if she is still around), but I am open to any changes. One thought is that right after the song ended we could have a pause and then have an instrumental jam like we did sometimes when we played it live.

CURRENT PROJECT ALERT

The projects currently being discussed and planned are a re-recording of the following songs:

Laser
Set in Stone

These songs will be recorded soon at Andrew's studio. Following recording, Andrew will mix the songs. Upon completion of these songs, we will obviously plan future recordings. I invite everybody to post any ideas they may have as far as how to arrange these songs.
